Sekisui House has announced Coles will be Ripley Town Centre’s first anchor tenant, with works scheduled to commence on site later this year.

Ripley Town Centre will serve as the region’s primary town centre, offering 257,000m2 GFA – approximately 40 football fields – including retail, commercial and community space, all in the heart of Ripley Valley’s emerging new community, Ecco Ripley.

Sekisui House Australia CEO and Managing Director Toru Abe said securing Coles as the Ripley Town Centre’s first anchor tenant was a key milestone for Ecco Ripley and the region.

Sekisui House is thrilled to announce that Coles will open a 3,800m2 GFA full-line supermarket store at Ripley Town Centre,

Mr Abe said.

“To attract one of Australia’s largest retailers is an achievement for the Ecco Ripley community, and will cement Ripley Town Centre’s role as the go-to retail destination of the Ripley Valley once it opens in 2017.

“With Coles leading the way, opportunities will soon become available for retail, commercial and community services to also become a part of Ripley Town Centre.

“We look forward to 2017 when Coles opens its doors to shoppers and when the Ripley Town Centre will be another thriving centre in South East Queensland.”

Coles Regional Manager Wayne Dallinger said Coles was excited to be a part of Ripley Town Centre and a key contributor to the growth of Ripley Valley’s local economy.

“Having achieved so many milestones in such a short space of time, Ecco Ripley has played a key role in the evolution of the Ripley Valley, which is what attracted Coles to becoming the first anchor tenant at Ripley Town Centre,” Mr Dallinger said.

“The presence of Coles supermarket at the Ripley Town Centre will provide more than 200 jobs during construction and provide employment to more than 100 locals once complete, ultimately boosting the region’s existing appeal to buyers and investors of all ages.”

According to population estimates by the Queensland Office of Economic & Statistical Research (OESR), the population within the Ripley Valley Urban Development Area will reach 32,000 by 2021.
